The following is a travel journal of our great circle cruise that began on March 1, 2006 and will end ? Some of the journal has been posted to the MTOA listserve, but this is the entire chronicle to date.  A brief explanation of terms used may be in order. Charles belongs to several boating lists and to simplify things I have nicknames for them so that I don’t have to pronounce the whole name and those are as follows:

Twills- this group is formerly the Trawler World List and probably because of my nickname they changed the name to Trawlers & Trawlering but I still refer to them as Twills. 

Chubbies- this is the group for CHB owners, our boat is a CHB, a Chung Hwa to be exact. When I first began calling them chubbies a few took offense but I think they’re OK with it now.

Turtles- This is all of you

The other thing that sometimes makes people a little crazy is that I use the pen name “THE WIFE” . You can’t imagine the comments, suggestions and downright nasty mail Charles gets about this whenever he refers to me as THE WIFE. So here’s how the name came to be….

My writing began several years ago as a sort of rebuttal to Charles’ articles about boating. I am a non-boater, that has not changed.  The only reason I am on this cruise it that it is my husband’s dream and I love him.period….I am not a martyr or a perfect wife so I retain the right to whine, wail and moan and sometimes use the writing to do that.
